I usually stay quiet about the thanks that people give to veterans even though I served in the Navy for a long time. Mostly I keep quiet because I didn't go to Vietnam or ever come under any kind of fire. But I do sincerely appreciate the thanks that people give for the time that I and countless others spent away from family and friends for 6 months or more at a time, over and over. Wherever we served. I too want to thank those who put themselves very definitely in harms way. Those who very selflessly put their lives in danger for others. For my very, very small part, You're Very Welcome. And thanks to everyone who expresses their appreciation. You don't know how much it means to hear it. |
